About the AAA
The AAA was incorporated as a not-for-profit association in 1990 when participants in the fledgling industry recognised the need for a national body of like minded people to promote and grow the concept of alpaca as a viable and sustainable primary industry. Today, the Association has evolved into a company limited by guarantee representing owners at all levels and is the collective voice of over 1,000 members in all states of Australia.
The AAA runs one of the most internationally advanced alpaca registers of bloodlines and breeding predictors to generate continual improvement in our herd quality and worldwide reputation. The development of standards for the emerging meat and hide industry is now underway.
AAA is recognised by the Australian Government as the peak industry body for the alpaca industry in Australia and provides tools, information and support to bring owners together for the future of alpaca farming as a fully commercial industry.
